Behind OG Learning Lab
A tutor who understands both the science of reading
and the heart of a struggling learner.
A Little About Me
I’m Lucy, a Certified Orton‑Gillingham Practitioner (Interim) trained and certified through OG Canada. I currently work in the North Vancouver School District, supporting elementary students both individually and in small groups. This gives me a deep understanding of classroom expectations, curriculum demands, and the real‑world challenges students face every day.
Before working in the school system, I spent many years in the corporate world. The work was productive, but it wasn’t fulfilling. I wanted to do something that made a meaningful difference — something that changed lives in a tangible way. Supporting children as they learn to read and write has become that purpose for me. Watching a child decode a word independently for the first time, or write a sentence they’re proud of, is the kind of fulfillment I had been searching for.
I bring structure, warmth, and patience to every session. I follow the OG methodology faithfully, designing lessons that are calm, clear, and confidence‑building.
